2 tone paint on a 58

Post by scoot »

Hi all.
I see some photos of 58's with 2 tone paint, lets say they blue with a white roof. I know that is a factory option, but what about those that are the same color under the side chrome moulding(from the headlight to the back wheel) as the roof? was that a factory option? eg White roof, blue hood, trunk etc, white under chrome strip.
Sorry, I havent explained myself very well. Hope you know what I'm on about!!
Thanks

The only factory two-tone that was available was: roof one color and body another color.

All other two-tone styles were dealer or aftermarket changes. In addition to the two-tone scheme where the lower body under the sweep spear is painted roof color, I have seen Limiteds with the body one color, and the roof and louver panel a different color. It looks nice but is not factory, if you want to be a purist.
