can get a limited

Post by HotRod58er »

hey folks.

I have a connection to 3 limiteds. I am going to try and get one for a project. How much have you guys invested in restoring your Limited if you have done most of the work yourself?

Well, I have about $6k in mine so far, and I don't even have it off the frame yet. You can see my current progress in my thread in this forum.

What kind of shape is/are these Limiteds in? 4 door, 2 door, etc?

Depending on costs in your region, and the condition of the chrome, rechroming alone can run $10,000 - $40,000 or more. The flight pitch tranny will cost about $2000 to rebuild, there are only two or so guys that can rebuild them (meaning they have the parts, which are nearly impossible to find). Upholstery varies, especially if you want it to be exactly original. Jenkins Interiors quoted me $10,000 for a four door Super complete interior 10 years ago - much too high. A friend had a nice job done on his '58 Olds four door for about $2000 - doors, seats, inner quarters, and headliner. Not completely original but very nice.
