Hi Adam,
The dash pad on my 58 Special needed doing too - pretty much all the foam that was in there had crumbled away, and ended up on the floor when ever anyone touched the pad. I took the pad off, used my angle grinder to cut several slots in the metal support at the rear of the pad, got out as ...

Re: My '58 Special Riviera, from seized to running!
Hi Jeff,
sounds like you're making good progress on the Buick - it looks to be in great shape body-wise, considering how long it's been standing.
I also have an under-seat heater in my Special, if the Specials have them I would think the rest of the range has them too.
Keep up the good work!

Hi Adam,
the car's really taking shape - keep up the good work!! I look forward to your updates, as I know that I'll be going through the same process one day when I finally get around to tackling my 58 Roadmaster!

Re: parts catalog
Thanks for the advice guys, I remember looking at Cars.inc's website a long time ago, I'd forgotten about it. I'll definitely get the parts catalog they have listed there as I have a 58 Roadmaster waiting to be restored, the catalog will be invaluable I guess, but in the meantime I'm looking for the ...

Trim clips
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if these clips (ebay item number 190291248475) are the right clips for fitting the piece of stainless trim which runs from the rear bumper towards the rear wheel? If not, any idea what the clips are, and the best place to get them from?
Many thanks
Kerry

Thanks for your reply Dvonk, I searched AC Delco websites (US and UK), but A63C was not recognised. I'll carry on searching!

Electronic ignition for the 58
Hi all,
Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with converting to electronic ignition? I have been toying with the idea of fitting a Pertronix kit to my Special, but I have read some bad reports - can anyone enlighten me?
Many thanks

Hi all,
Does anyone know the best place to find an air filter for my 2 Bbl carb'd Special? I can't find one anywhere, or is there another filter from a different make/model/year that fits?
Thanks in advance
