Master Bedroom

Master Bedroom

Above: This is the master bedroom before the remodel - mostly hand-me-downs from my college days. I had the hardwood floors in the master bedroom, guestroom, and hallway resurfaced by J.R. Parsley Co. I painted the walls with Sherwin-Williams Contented. This paint is one shade lighter than my living room walls (Coastal Plain). I painted the ceiling Opaline, which is two shades lighter than the bedroom walls. I ordered my furniture from Hadley's Furniture in Beaumont. I also ordered my livingroom and TV room furniture from there.

One problem I had to deal with was the old floor vent from the no longer functioning floor heater. I decided it would be much easier to block this off and put a decorative grate over the hole than it would have been to patch the hole and make it match the rest of the floor. I bought a nice black cast iron grate with a Victorian style decorative grille.

Here is the nearly finished product. I have on order plantation shutters for the windows. First is the bed with a new Chris Madden comforter set. Then, the TV armoir and easy chair. Finally the dresser.
