Sorry for the delay. I hope these pictures help. The original A/C compressor has two belts. Both belts also go around the crank shaft pulley and the water pump pulley.

Hi
great pic´s
Looks like both pulleys on fan and crank are "extra" if you know what i mean
the original 2 row pulleys are there and then the a/c pulleys are bolted on them
so i have to find 2 a/c pulleys or make them myself maybe

)
Thanks
Janne

If I recall from parting some cars in the past, yes the two row A/C pulley components are separate from the PS and generator pulley on the crankshaft and fan shaft, not one piece units. But, that was several years ago and my memory is not too good.

I think the snout on the water pump is longer on the AC cars to accommodate for the pulley depth...which would make the inner water pump pulley different as well. I'm not sure of it, though.
Here is a clear photo of the side of the water pump.

The four different water pumps used on '58 Buicks have the same length snout. The difference is the shaft diameter: bigger on the A/C models. The reason for four different water pumps is that Buick changed to an aluminum water pump later in production, thus you had both an A/c and non-A/C water pump in cast iron and the same in aluminum.

At the new years morning i visit a guy in southern Sweden who hade spare parts from 54 old -58 Buicks !!!!!
what a great collection of parts, he hade everything i needed exept one of the two a/c pulleys.
He told me that there was 2 different shaft diameter on 58 and 2 different pulley outer diameter.
small shaft-big dia, big shaft-small dia. etc etc.
i get one small shaft big dia pulley, so now i only need the other one.
i get a complete a/c pump with brackets and hoses etc, rebuilt clock, drivers door glass, door handle mechanism, complete lighter, battery frame small bracket, and a whole bunch of other bits and peaces for about $640 and everything was in near perfect shape, i´m very satisfied
