Hi - I'm attempting to remove the trim from the bottom of the windshield for painting reasons- I have be told that the clips bolt in from under the dash board - any truth to that? I know the rear glass trim can be reached from inside the trunk underneath the glass. Any help would be great. The model I'm working on is a Century 4-door hardtop. Thanks - Chad Boyle

Chad, only the top reveal molding needs to have the clips removed - from inside by dropping the headliner.

For the lower reveal molding removal, this is directly quoted from my body service manual. Start with the left side:

1. Cover seat, hood, and fenders. Protect adjacent paint with masking tape.

2. Open door and remove attaching screws securing upper reveal molding along front body hinge pillar.

3. Disengage upper or side reveal molding from lower reveal molding sufficiently to remove lower reveal molding end attaching screw.

4. Remove screw from lower reveal molding attaching clip which is readily accessible with door open.

5 To disengage lower reveal molding from clip located outboard of wiper transmission, position loose end of molding downward until lower flange of molding is disengaged from the clip.

6 Remove lower reveal molding from body by carefully sliding molding outboard until the molding is disengaged from the remaining attaching clips.

Note: The left lower reveal molding slides into the integral center escutcheon of the right lower reveal molding. The right molding is secured at the body centerline by means of a center attaching clip.

To install, reverse the removal procedure, installing the right lower reveal molding first. If you remove the attaching clips, seal the screw holes with a body sealer when you reinstall the clips.
