Hey all,
My car is a Century Riviera...
I was wondering, when these cars were new, how many keys did they have ?
Lets see how many locks there are ....
Door lock (do both front door locks use keys ?)
Ignition switch
Glove box
Trunk
Should all of these locks use the one key ??
Where can I buy a complete matching set of tumblers and keys ?
How many keys should a 58 Buick have ?

Re: How many keys should a 58 Buick have ?
from page 7 of the 1958 Buick Owners Guide:
"Identical keys operate all locks on your Buick."
i.e., unless someone changed one of the locks in the past, they should still all be the same.
when i bought my Buick, someone had changed the ignition, and that was the only key i had. to get all the other locks working (glove box, doors, and trunk), i removed the trunk lock and took it to a locksmith. he showed me a numeric code printed on the lock and used that code to cut me some new keys. they work great in all the rest of the locks. eventually i will get the ignition re-keyed for more originality and convenience.
also, a word of advice: don't take the glove box lock to a locksmith--it has fewer pins than the rest of the locks and they won't be able to make full key. it will only work on the glove box.
