Hey guys finally decided to try to show my project. I've been working on this car for 2 years as of last month. It is almost ready for paint after lots of welding and bodywork. Keep in mind this is all done in my driveway as the car will not fit in my garage. I will try to post more pictures when time is available. I just figured out how to add pics. Here are a couple when I first got the car home, not the greatest pics. but I did not plan on showing anyone my progress. Here goes, Charlie/Boots43 http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad3/ ... f53252.jpg http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad3/ ... 1385516763

This is some of the metal work that I have had to deal with. This is the shots of the panels behind the door on both sides. Not to bad considering I have not done body work in probably close to 20 years. Hope you enjoy the pics. Charlie/ boots43
Sorry for photobucket but it was the only way I could figure out to load pictures.
The other side.

The car is close to being painted, mainly doing finish work sanding scratches etc. Here are a few more of my challenges that I faced along the way. Not professional but at least backyard hotrodder.
The parts car is before and after. I stripped everything possible !! The 364 motor actually ran and I sold it to another Buick owner. I'll post more pictures soon. Charlie

Looks like your car had a lot of the same rust that my Limited had. I didn't have any roof rust, though. Mine was mostly in the rockers and floors/trunk. Also some under the headlights, door corners, and trunk lid.
Yes they were similar, as I watched your progress I saw myself doing the same areas also. If I hadn't found the donor car it would have been extremely hard doing some of the sheet metal work. I am just getting around to resealing the gas tank, new brake lines etc. Here are some pics. of the roof on both sides that I had to deal with. I replaced most of the trunk, will have to take pictures of that and the trunk seal was a rotten mess also. More pics in the near future. Charlie

im a bit late to the party, but let me say, i am quite impressed at how simple you make the repairs look... especially with such aggressive rusting. good job!

It sat outside in storage for a few years and down here in Florida the humidity puts a hurtin' on the old cars. I haven't done this much rot replacement before but I am satisfied with my progress, the paint job will tell the whole story. Doing finish bodywork now so into paint in a month or two, I hope. Thanks
I know it's been awhile but no one seemed to be on this site. So I'll add more pics. and info. of what's happening with my ride. Installed new side glass and window channel also putting the door panels back on. Ordered a complete brake line kit and tried to start installing today but they sent me the lines for one of the big Buicks not a Special. That was a bummer. I'm getting closer to the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks guys.
It has been awhile but I am back to working on ol' girl again. Recored radiator picked up, master cylinder rebuilt and new brake lines front to back installed. New wheel cylinders all the way around. Dual exhaust got delivered along with the driver side exhaust manifold I needed to run duals. Picked up a four barrel intake and just found a Rochester 4GC that came off a Limited. Here are a few pics..
