Hi Folks
Well, winter is bearing down out here on the tundra and I would like to tackle my
clunky U-joint noises in my Roadmaster 75. I'd like to drop the whole torque tube
as prescribed in the shop manual and rebuild and replace EVERYTHING at both ends
of the driveshaft, as long as I'm going to this amount of work.
My questions are:
1.) Can anyone enlighten me to ALL the parts needed? ( seals, gaskets, u-joints,
hardware, etc) For all the stuff at the end of the trans as well as at the Differential?
Is CARS,Inc. a good choice to supply these or...?
2.) The shop manual is not intuitive to me..! Has anyone done this job themselves?
Any words of wisdom as to the process, tricky stuff, stuff not covered in the shop manual.
Also, thinking of replacing the weakening springs at this time...Sources?
I'll have it on the lift; no more cold concrete for this 58 Fan!
Much appreciated!

Re: Both ends of the Driveshaft...?
well I do have 2 NOS U joints for my 59 but they are the smaller ones if you need one I can sell it for $35 plus S&H. I bought it from CARS and just have them sitting in the dining room still! I know with torque tube you will need the 2 gaskets for the front and back of the tube, and while I was at it I would also lube the rear axle.
