Postby morje58 » Thu Apr 01, 2010 4:39 am

Hi

I also have got new orig. switch for the spotlight, Now my problem is where is the orig place for the switch on the 1958 Buick ?

On the dashboard ?

Next to the wiper contact ?

Anyone now for sure ????

Thanks for any help.

I have ask a few question on this site about the Trailmaster spotlight, but haven got any answer back. It can be true that no one have these babys on there car ?

The spotlight is rather rare and I don't think any member here has one. Contact Eugene Reynolds at mr58buick@aol.com

I am new to this forum as of April of 2012. I noticed your post. Did you get the answer you needed? I don't know much about spotlights but my 58 Limited has one that I think was factory installed. I have attached a picture. If this is the same as yours and you need further investigation done I think my car, while quite rough, is pretty much original. Let me know. Ben

Yes, that is the original Trailmaster Spotlight. It is a rather rare option, and pricey if you find one for sale. Any mounting and wiring info you can post would be appreciated.

I want to be as helpful as I can be. That being said I didn't plan on starting restoration on this car until after I finish my current project, a 54 Vette. That will probably be late this year, maybe next. So I really don't want to start tearing the door apart trying to guess at what you need. Could you be specific. Is there a template I could map out as to the to the placement on the door? Or do you need to know what the mount looks like on the inside of the door frame? What wiring information do you need? If I can get it from the car I would be happy to help but I am not ready to start tearing it apart just yet. I hope you can understand. When I get too many projects going at once I tend to lose little things that usually are costly to replace or reproduce. Let me know what I can do for you. Ben

I'm not the original poster so I personally don't need info right away, I'm just interested in having it posted to the sight for reference whenever you get a chance.
