364 Valley Pan

Postby 58 Special » Tue Jan 15, 2008 7:54 am

I am rebuilding a 1958 364 enagine.
I have soaked the valley pan and it seemed to look good. I was ready to install and noticed crap falling out of baffles underneath.
I decided to cut spotwelds.
I am glad I did. I had a lot of crap inside as well as "steel Wool" in the baffle area. I removed as much of loose steel as I could and repacked it with #3 steel wool. Then spot welded it closed.
Just thought i would pass along this info for anyone who may want to know what's inside!
