Limited Four Door Side Trim

Postby 58limited » Sun May 08, 2011 4:15 pm

I have side trim for Limited four door cars that I have parted - mostly rear quarter trim but some door trim too. I do NOT have the lower rear quarter trim (the big chrome splash guards behind the rear wheels) for sale. If you are looking for anything, let me know. I also have some trim for four door Roadmasters and Supers.

I need the right rear sweepspear stainless piece that goes on the door. Mine is mashed, and I couldn't make it look right in my attempt to repair.

I have one from a Super in my hand. It has a different part number according to my parts book. I have an e-mail in to a
'58 Buick expert to see what, if any, difference there is. Some of the "stainless" on the Roadmaster and Limited was chrome plated, that might be the difference. There is a dent at the wide back part of the trim piece. I'll go look for another in the shed and let you know.

EDIT: I found the driver's side rear door trim in my shed and the Super trim that i have is definitely different than the one used on a Roadmaster and Limited. I vaguely recall selling the one you are looking for a few years ago, to the person I just sent the e-mail inquiry to. Sorry: (

I have been out of the loop due to the hurricanes of the past few years. I used to know the trim differences by heart but I guess my mind has been on other things lately.

Ok thanks...

I just looked at the piece I have, and a small area that I had been working on looks like there is a layer of plating that I wore through...so I would not be surprised to see that this piece is chrome plated.

I wouldn't worry about it if that's the only difference, as I can make it look like chrome if I need to.

How much different is it? I have a rear door from a Super in my basement, but it's buried.

There is a tail off of the back of the trim that meets up with the rear wheel well opening molding and rocker molding. The tail is not present on the Super molding. It is quite different and will not work.

Would you happen to have a center top rear bumper piece? (The piece that the gas filler door goes in)
I need one for my super that is chromable with minimal work or usable as a driver.
Mine has lost all chrome and is has razor rash surface bubbling across the bottom edge. It's the only piece of stainless/chrome that isn't presentable on my original Super.

Thanks!

I might have a good one, but it is buried. I'll try to look for it this weekend.
